The Problem

Creating a Scalable and Flexible Funnel Flow for Benzinga’s Product Portfolio Optimization

We wanted to build out a funnel flow that was easily scalable and interchangeable between their different products and gurus. This was necessary because we wanted Benzinga to have the freedom to swap based on which subscription products were having less churn, a better CPA, and a better LTV.

The Approach

Optimizing Funnel for Lead Generation, Subscriptions, and Upsells

Strikepoint built out a funnel flow that maximized leads, subscribers, and upsells. We built out a funnel that didn’t need a heavy facelift if we wanted to swap to a different Guru or Subscription product. We accomplished this by building a funnel that was more focused on the product and its value without the need for long sales pages or VSLs. Instead, we focused on shorter sales copy and condensed page layouts.

Maximizing the leads was an important step for this funnel because we wanted to grow Benzinga’s list as well as retarget the leads back into our funnel to buy. 

  • Benzinga is very good at converting their leads into sales through gradual cross-selling and upselling.
  • The lead generation step was very helpful in our efforts to get subscribers at a lower CPA because our cart abandonment emails were ver effective at converting those leads into subscribers later on. This allowed us to scale our ads up at a higher CPA because we were able to convert the leads later on.

Upsells were also very important to Benzinga because each subscription had the chance to be upsold 3 times in the funnel. To maximize the upsells on the funnel we implemented an upsell abandonment email series that allowed subscribers to be upsold over time into higher tiers of the same subscription.

The Results

From April to December of 2022 we were able to go from a peak of a $381 CPA to a low of a $114 CPA. During this time the goal was to get to over 8k new subscribers under their target CPA.

We were able to surpass their subscriber goal by over 2k because of how low our CPA’s were during the last 2 months. Additionally, we were also able to scale up from $95k/month in ad spend to over $300k/month in ad spend during our last month.

Lastly, we were able to generate over 50k leads for their list, which Benzinga would then go on to upsell and cross-sell on their own to make additional revenue from our efforts.
